About
Hello and welcome!
It's me, Karoline! I'm a jewelry hunter, a treasure curator, and I live in Brooklyn, New York with my husband and two sons (one human, one hairy).
I have worked in the Jewelry industry for 10+ years in both contemporary and antique worlds, during which time I learned that there is SO much pre-existing, gorgeous jewelry out there. I spend my days personally hand-selecting jewelry from the contacts I worked hard to make over the course of my career, sourcing cool vintage and antique pieces from around NYC with the aim of giving new life to old gold.
Buying second hand is sustainability.
Making new jewelry from scratch requires a lot of resources and energy and is a little bit of an ethical minefield. Early on in this journey I realized that repurposing and shining up existing pieces is so much more energy- and cost-efficient, plus they truly don't make them like they used to. I like to think of fine jewelry as a memory or celebration marked in metal and stone and made to last, and I love that each preloved piece usually has a rich history and fascinating story that we can carry on with our own chapters, not to mention the good karma of repurposing old pieces! By investing in these pre-existing pieces, you are doing Mother Earth a real solid... and you can't put a price on that positive energy.
If you are here, there is a high chance you also love the old gold and have exquisite taste. You are obviously a jewelry nerd with a kind and fun heart so naturally we are automatically best friends!
Welcome and I love you!
